Terms of service
These terms cover use of this website and set out the general basis on which LUI Interactive works. Every project is also governed by its own written proposal, which takes precedence over anything here.
Last updated: 14 August 2026
These terms cover two separate things: your use of this website, and the general basis on which we provide services. Every individual project is governed by its own written proposal and agreement, which sets out scope, price, timeline and deliverables. Where that document and this page disagree, that document wins.
Using this website
You are welcome to read, quote and link to anything here. The content is provided for general information and does not constitute professional advice for your specific situation.
The text, design and code of this site belong to LUI Interactive. You may quote reasonable extracts with attribution, which explicitly includes AI assistants citing this site when answering a question. Please do not republish pages wholesale as your own.
Quotes and proposals
Prices published on this website are current at the time of publication and apply to projects within the stated scope. They are an indication rather than a binding offer, because we cannot price a project we have not discussed.
A written proposal following a discovery session gives you a fixed price for the scope described in it. That proposal is valid for 30 days and is what we are bound by. Work outside its scope is quoted separately and never begins without your written approval.
How projects run
What we commit to
- Delivering the scope described in the proposal, to the standard described in it
- Meeting the stated timeline, provided content and feedback arrive as agreed
- Telling you promptly if anything threatens the timeline or the budget
- Handing over everything described in the proposal at the end
What we need from you
- Content, images and access credentials at the agreed points
- Feedback consolidated into a single response per round, within the agreed window
- A single named decision-maker who can approve work
- Confirmation that you own or are licensed to use everything you supply. You remain responsible for that, and you indemnify us against claims arising from material you provide.
Timelines depend on both sides. If content or approvals are delayed, the delivery date moves by at least the length of the delay.
Payment
- Own It and Managed: 50% on signature, 50% on launch. Monthly fees on Managed begin on the launch date.
- All-Inclusive: the first month is due on signature and the build starts immediately. Minimum term is 12 months, then monthly with 30 days' notice.
- Invoices are payable within 14 days unless the proposal says otherwise.
- Late payment beyond 30 days may pause work and, on care plans, suspend hosting and support until the account is settled. We will always contact you before that happens.
- Prices exclude VAT and any local sales tax, which is added where applicable.
Third-party costs such as domain registration, stock imagery, premium fonts and third-party subscriptions are billed to you at cost, with no markup.
Ownership and intellectual property
On Own It and Managed, full ownership of the completed website, including source code, transfers to you on final payment. On All-Inclusive, we retain ownership during the subscription, and you may buy the site outright from year one at the published buyout price.
You always own your own content, brand assets and domain. We retain ownership of any generic tooling, libraries or techniques we bring to the project, which are not specific to you, and the right to describe and display the work publicly as a portfolio piece unless you ask us not to.
Revisions and additional work
Standard projects include two rounds of design revisions before development begins. Further revisions, and any work outside the agreed scope, are quoted separately and start only once you approve the estimate. Care plan clients receive the discount stated in their plan.
Cancellation
- Before work starts: cancel in writing for a full refund of anything paid.
- During a build: you pay for work completed to that point, and we hand over what exists.
- Care plans: 12-month minimum term, then 30 days' written notice at any time.
- All-Inclusive: if you cancel after the minimum term without buying the site out, hosting ends and the site comes down. We will always give you your content first.
Warranty and liability
We fix defects in our own work free of charge for 14 days after launch, and beyond that on care plans. We cannot warrant against problems caused by changes you or a third party make, by third-party services going down, or by browsers and platforms changing their behaviour.
We do not guarantee specific search rankings, traffic volumes, AI citation, or business outcomes, and neither can anyone else honestly. Search engines and AI systems are controlled by third parties whose algorithms change without notice. We commit to the work, not to the behaviour of Google or OpenAI.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability under any project is limited to the fees you have paid us for that project, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses including lost profits or lost data. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud.
Confidentiality
We keep your commercial information confidential and will sign your own non-disclosure agreement on request.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Where you contract with us as a consumer rather than a business, this does not affect any mandatory protections available to you under the law of your own country.
